I first got turned on the The Beatles by an older brother
and from there it took off. I collected every album by every 60s
Rock group
there was.
Later on I discovered Jazz and Garage music. I started playing
in bands at 13. Anyone who owned an instrument at my school
was fair
game and I
was in a band immediately. My first drum kit was a 1950s WFL.
I currently own three vintage drum kits, a 1962 Gretch, a 1964
Ludwig
Downbeat
kit and a 1968 Ludwig Classic in black oyster pearl. I eventually
started teaching
drums and have had a few students over the years.
